Lonely Places

“Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Luke 5:15-16
Jesus gave the perfect example not just of a great leader but what it looks like to be a great follower. The truth is that it doesn’t matter how big our crowds get or how large our name swells if we aren’t saving the best of ourselves for The Father. When his influence began to spread throughout the land he didn’t get a secretary and begin to book healing events and revival campaigns, he withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Oh what a mark we would leave on this world if we could get just this. We have to understand that revival has never really been about the spectacular and dazzling but about simple men and women choosing the hidden things of God above all the enticements of earth.

  1. Wowwwww! This has almost left me speechless! I love this because it’s short and straight to the point but has a very POWERFUL message! My God, this really touched me and is what I needed to hear! This passage shows the importance of prayer at ALL times, even in the peaks of life!…Awesome post my friend!
