God has always and will always conduct His business by fire. In the Old Covenant Law, every offering that was given was either burned by flame or eaten. In the New Covenant, Jesus came to “baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire”. The change from old to new is not a question of method but of message. God was once content with beast and grain being the subject of the altar but now, through Christ, He calls men to come and burn.
